Where do I begin? I always find it the hardest to talk about myself. My passion lies in working with big data and finding actionable results. Add in some web design and development and now we have something dynamic! Now we have a beautiful, seamless, refined blend of marketing research and web design.
Why Web Design and Development?

What started as a hobby for a young, high school student ended up influencing his career path today. I absolutely loved the concept of coding text that in turn created something visually striking.

In this modern age of the Internet, it represents your company, who you are and what you do. First impressions are everything, and if the organizational website makes no sense, visitors will leave and never return.

Why Market Research?

Straight from the program itself the MSMR program taught me how to meld logic with creativity, quantitative data with qualitative insights, and intelligence with intuition to solve marketing problems and create business opportunities.

Marketing research helps decision makers by providing strategic insights regarding consumers and the choices they make.

Through the Masters program and my previous positions I have gained experience handling big data and analyzing it for management. I am comfortable handling data and using specialized software such as SPSS and SAS. I understand the conceptual fundamentals of multivariate techniques and can apply them. Some examples include multiple regression, factor loading, multidimensional scaling, perceptual mapping and multiple analysis of variance. I also have experience with focus groups and qualitative research. Given the opportunity I would love to continue to gain hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative data.

So what have you done so far?

In my last position I was responsible for building and maintaining seven of our company websites. Each website was built with a unique approach to portray a specific brand for a specific target consumer. It was particularly important to understand UI/UX Design to implement theme development while using best practices in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Through the use of Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics, I monitored issues, trends, and traffic of our websites.

As a Fuel Pricing Analyst at Susser Holdings Inc. my job consisted of learning the KSS pricing system and assisting senior management with competitor reports in order to help with pricing strategies for markets. I provided research data to senior management so that they could make decisions in pricing strategies for our gasoline markets in two regions; the West and the South. Based on the market trends, I helped develop strategies for all markets that directly impact company profit or loss. I assisted management with product pricing. I have adequate knowledge of the KSS pricing system and can price optimize gasoline for over 600 stores. I have also learned to create spreadsheets using Monarch and Oracle-based Hyperion for analysis. I understand the KSS system, price optimization and periodically help stores implement prices. I monitored and priced on the KSS system every day. I created training manuals for reports and KSS in my department.

I have also worked for MediaHound Inc. a company specializing in media market research. I collected data and entered them into a metrics system in order to provide market data on brands. By creating profiles, I helped our clients analyze market activity in areas such as advertising, brand awareness, publicity, competitive metrics, media monitoring, and marketing communication strategies. The goal was to analyze the data and show how much impact a company was making and how much more they could make. This also assisted our clients in order to evaluate the company’s strengths and weaknesses.

I graduate December 13th, 2014 with a Masters in Marketing Research from the University of Texas at Arlington. I also have a Photography certification from the International Accreditation Organization and an IRB Certification for conducting focus group studies. My passion lies in creating a seamless, refined blend of marketing research and web design. I am proficient in Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and statistical software such as SPSS and SAS.

What are your current goals?

In order to understand web analytics better, I am starting to study to become a Google Certified Partner. This will help me collect data to help make better decisions with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and Google Adwords.

Using the knowledge I gained from my Master's program, I am on a path to become an IBM Certified Specialist. This will alow me to better handle big data for predictive analysis, market research and statistical research.
